Lately, TNF has started to release a line called Purple Label, which digs into their past and pulls out retro, vintage designs using newer, more technically-enabling fabrics. However, I would like to point out that the best line of gear that The North Face ever released was their Extreme label. I found a Gor-Tex pullover jacket in Teal, Pink, and Purple at a vintage shop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming back in 2007 and have been a fan ever since. There are always about 30-40 on eBay at any given time, so make sure you browse carefully, as some people post non-Extreme label items in the search results. Easiest way to check: look at the tag. Here’s the real deal. Click the photo to head to an eBay search for TNF Extreme.
