Beginning in the early nineteen-teens, Mr. Ratti founded Persol after owning Berry Opticians. His first creation were a pair of goggles used by aviators in the equivalent of the Italian Air Force. This is a rendering of the goggles. How cool would it be if Persol were to release a vintage line of goggle-inspired frames using that nose piece?
Then came the 20’s, where Mr. Ratti’s company developed their iconic brown-yellow lens. Between the 30’s and 50’s the flex arms were optimized and the iconic arrow was introduced.
Still holding true to its roots in aviation, Persol is THE original aviator, whether or not they call their frames that.
